AdeY
No one really knows who AdeY is. The British-Swedish artist’s real name, age and place of residence are still unknown. AdeY left a career as a professional dancer, something evident in the photographs which combine photography, choreography, and performance.
AdeY highlight’s our right to be different in terms of body type, gender, sexuality, religion, and skin tone with both humor and tenderness. The work shows the human body in its most stripped-down, naked form, but strives to create a non-sexualized and unprejudiced images based on the ideal of acceptance.
They have published a series of poetic photobooks and zines and exhibited in several of the world’s best known galleries and museums, including Fotografiska (Stockholm), Clamp (New York), Galerie XII (Los Angeles), The Little Black Gallery (London), Finnish Museum of Photography (Helsinki), Falsterbo Photo Museum (Falsterbo, Sweden), and Fotogallerie Vasli Souza (Oslo).
